There is no “perfect time” to start training. Puppies brains are developing from 0-6 months and it is the most impressionable time of a dogs life. This being said, we have had success with dogs ranging from 8 weeks - 10 years old.

At Fresh Start, we take a step into your life and make the honest effort to understand your unique situation and goals. After 4 years of training in different people’s homes, it is clear that everyone has their own lifestyle and needs. Our job is to incorporate dog training into your day to day life in an easily approachable manner that feels second nature. Training takes effort but isn’t meant to feel like a job!
Beyond this, we are your friend. Anyone who does training with Fresh Start should feel like they can reach out to us at any point during or after training with any questions/ training needs.

We use a “balanced” approach to training and treat every dog as an individual. Each dog is unique and it’s important to train to their specific needs! Dog training has changed a lot over the years and we make a continued effort to stay up to date with the best scientific methodology.

Education is highly important in the dog training world! Dog training is an unregulated industry, meaning anyone can call themselves a professional. I got my certifications through the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers, an internationally renowned school, in 2022. I continued my education through online courses to further my knowledge and be able to take on more cases.
What helps the most, in my opinion, is continual practice with an array of dogs and situations. This has been my full time job since 2022, and working with a variety of people and applying my education has taught me an incredible amount. I believe there is something to be learned from every dog that we train!
